Terms and Conditions



Registration can be made either via our website www.theseconddegree.com or by sending the registration form by email or post . By registering, the participant implicitly acknowledges and accepts the terms and conditions listed below.

Upon receipt of the registration form, the participant receives a temporary confirmation of registration to be followed by a firm confirmation upon receipt of payment.

If the payment is not made within the specified deadlines, The Second Degree reserve the right to offer the place to another student.

Every client has the right to cancel his or her registration, exclusively in writing either by email or post and that it has been aknowledged by administration.

If the total sum has been paid, the amount of the cancellation charges are calculated as follows:

- for every cancellation occurring 3 weeks before the start of the course: 30 EUR retained administrative charges;

- for every cancellation occurring 1 week before the start of the course 50 EUR retained as administrative charges;

- for every cancellation occurring 1 day before the start of the course, 80 EUR retained as administrative charges;

The Second Degree does not reimburse any enrolment fee for any cancellation taking place after the start of the course, the participant remains responsible for the payment of the whole course fee.
Non-participation in whole or part of the course does not confer the right to any reimbursement or discount.

The Second Degree also does not allow registrations to be paid for class-by-class, that is to say, the full course fee must be paid even if you only attend part of the course, intentionally or not.

**If the client has commenced the course without paying the fee and then decides not to attend further classes, then the client is responsible for the cost of the course in its entirety**

Please understand that most courses have size restrictions, so if we reserve a place for you, then another person might not be able to take the course, thus the cancellation fee

For all classes to take place, we must insist that you think very carefully before placing your registration and making your payment. All classes have to be run with a minimum of 4 persons, anything less than this will result in the class being cancelled or run at a major financial loss to us which can be very frustrating for anybody who is involved.

So we ask that if you place your registration, we will consider this as your confirmation of attendance and we will expect payment to be mad

If the course/class has to be cancelled, then reimbursment of payment will be made by The Second Degree.

Our courses

All of our courses are 16 hours in total, 2 hrs per week for 8 weeks, not including the school holidays. With exceptions including Mosaic Wonders, Indian Cookery and Photography Level II where you will be informed of the location upon request or after you have registered, please bear in mind that we do try and keep as central to Luxembourg City as possible

You will be informed of the class start date after your registration by email, as sometimes the class may start one week later than scheduled due to availability of classrooms.

With the exception of Mosaic Wonders, Photography Level II and Indian Cookery, our classes are held at St Georges International School in Hamm, this has excellent parking availability and has easy access by bus.

An auto reply email will be sent to you when you submit your registration, please be patient with us whilst we process your request, and you will be informed, also via email, when your class is due to start, sometimes this will be very close to the start date as we await more registrations so your class can go ahead.

Please note, that for a class to proceed, we need at least 4 fully registered participants, any less than this, the class will have to be cancelled, hence the apparant delay of confirmation.

Starting the Course

If the participant cannot attend the first class, The Second Degree must be informed or the place will be given to another participant.

There are no courses during public holidays and school holidays in Luxembourg.

Commitments of the participant

Once registered, the participant must be contactable either by phone or email, but preferably both!

The participant must observe the rules in force in any premises where the course is being held. For any damage incurred to the premises or the course materials, the neglectful person will be held responsible.

The Second Degree has the right to refuse access to a course for a participant whose behaviour prevents the other group members from following the course in a normal way. Any exclusion for disciplinary reasons will be made without reimbursement of the fee.

For the sport activities, the participants must wear the appropriate sports wear.


Whilst The Second Degree and its authorized representatives will exercise due care and attention during the courses, they shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury to person or property while on the course. It also does not take the responsibility either for itself or its partners if its services are cancelled as a result of force majeure, strike or negligence beyond its control.

Photos may be taken during the courses and will be published on our website, unless an expressed objection is presented. They could be used in brochures or catalogues to illustrate our activities unless forbidden by the participant in writing.

For the purpose of attending these courses it is ESSENTIAL for the participant to ensure that they have Civil liability Insurance (Responsabilité Civile)
